EVERETT – The Snohomish County Auditor’s Office will test voting equipment and ballot counting equipment in preparation for the August Primary Election.  The testing process is a regular activity in preparing for each election, and all testing is open to public observation.

The accessible voting equipment that will be used in the August 18, 2009 Primary will be tested on Monday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office, 1st floor Administration Building West, 3000 Rockefeller Ave, Everett.  An official logic and accuracy test of the ballot counting equipment will take place on Thursday, August 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Ballot Tabulation Center located at 1818 Pacific Ave, Everett.

“Election equipment testing protocols required in Washington State and used in Snohomish County are some of the most comprehensive in the country.  This level of testing is a critical component to the security and accountability of our elections process.  I am proud of the work our county does to ensure that our results are accurate and trusted,” said County Auditor Carolyn Weikel.
