A 58-year-old Snohomish-area man was killed when his vehicle crashed into a power pole this morning in the 8800 block of Lowell Snohomish River Road in unincorporated Snohomish.
 
A passerby spotted the vehicle and called 911 about 7 a.m. today. The exact time of the crash is unknown but it is believed to have happened shortly before being spotted by the other driver. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle. There were no other injuries.
 
The crash knocked down power lines, causing some people in the area to be without power for a short period of time.
 
Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. The collision is under investigation.
