Michael Metzger, the 24-year-old Godfather of modern Freestyle Motocross, will make an appearance and sign autographs during the 2009 Evergreen State Fair Extreme Monster Truck and Freestyle show on Friday, Aug. 28, in Monroe.
As a two time X Game champion in the Big Air competition, Michael is known for his craziness and completing the “Impossible Jump” live on national television in 2006. Not only did he successfully land the jump over the infamous fountains in front of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, he did a back flip and set a new record for distance. He was also the first person to ever complete the back-to-back back flip stunt during an X Games competition.
Michael’s appearance at the Evergreen State Fair is just part of the excitement taking place during Friday’s Extreme Monster Truck Show. A total of seven nationally acclaimed Monster Trucks, including Bounty Hunter and Iron Maiden, will be competing head to head for one night only beginning at 7 p.m. A Pit Party to meet the drivers, freestyle motorcyclists and BMX riders will be held from 6 p.m. until show time. Ticket holders will have full access during the Pit Party -- an added value of the show. All drivers and riders will be available following the show for autographs and photos, also.
A fireworks extravaganza will conclude the evening performance. Tickets are available at the Fairgrounds and Ticketmaster. Admission to the Fair is included with tickets purchased before the day of event. For more information, go to www.evergreenfair.org or call 360-805-6700.
