SNO-ISLE LIBRARIES BOARD SEEKS NEW TRUSTEE

MARYSVILLE, Wash. –Snohomish County residents with a desire to serve public libraries are encouraged to apply for a vacancy on the Sno-Isle Libraries Board of Trustees.  Sno-Isle Libraries is an inter-county library district serving most of Snohomish and all of Island counties.  The Board consists of five Snohomish County residents and two Island County residents.  The upcoming vacancy is for a Snohomish County position; preference will be given to applicants from south Snohomish County (Brier, Mountlake Terrace, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mukilteo, Mill Creek, and surrounding unincorporated areas).  The position would fill the remaining three years of an unexpired seven-year term, and begin immediately.

The Sno-Isle Libraries serves more than 646,000 residents in Snohomish and Island counties.  Sno-Isle has community libraries in Arlington, Brier, Camano Island, Clinton, Coupeville, Darrington, Edmonds, Freeland, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens, Langley, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, Oak Harbor, Snohomish, Stanwood, and Sultan, as well as Mobile Services for the homebound and local daycares, as well as bookmobile stops in communities and at senior centers. Services and materials include 1.3 million items, reference services, electronic databases and computer equipment, Internet access, outreach programs for the homebound and local daycares, and story times for children.
