SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Local health-care groups are gearing up to vaccinate thousands of people at risk of complications from H1N1 influenza at nine clinics in Snohomish County on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Vaccinations will be offered at no cost to those most vulnerable to complications from H1N1 influenza: pregnant women, all people ages six months to 24 years, caregivers of children younger than six months old, people ages 25 to 64 who have chronic medical conditions, health-care workers, emergency services personnel, school teachers and childcare professionals.
All eight clinics will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some clinics may open earlier and close later. Check www.snocoflu.com for updates.
Additional vaccine is expected to arrive weekly in the following months, and will be offered to the general public through health-care providers, including pharmacies.
Parents will not be offered vaccine when they accompany their children to a clinic, unless the parent is in a priority group.
Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, residents with questions relating to H1N1 vaccination clinic sites, requirements and other H1N1 questions can call 425-388-5088 Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
