Gov. Chris Gregoire, on Saturday, Oct. 24th, will join Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels to sign the SR 99 bored tunnel memorandum of agreement. The Seattle City Council approved this agreement by a unanimous vote on Monday, Oct. 19.
The agreement lays out how the state and city will work together to implement the agreed upon investments in the SR 99 corridor, city streets, a new Alaskan Way, the waterfront promenade, and central seawall. Details in the agreement include accountability for projects, implementation roles, and funding responsibilities.
