The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an overdue hiker on November 03, 2009 at 12:29 AM. The hiker is 59 year old Gregory Keller of Seattle and he was reported missing by his girlfriend. Mr. Keller left the Seattle area on October 27, 2009 to go hike off of the Mountain Loop Highway near Darrington. Mr. Keller was scheduled to return home on November 02, 2009. He did take camping equipment with him but he is reported to not have any overnight experience.
Snohomish County Search and Rescue [SAR] was notified on November 03, 2009 of the missing hiker and at first light of the day members of SAR responded to the area to start a search. At 11:24 AM on November 03, 2009 Mr. Keller’s rental car was discovered parked up French Creek Road unoccupied. This area is approximately 10 miles west of the town of Darrington on SR 530. SAR has deployed resources on the ground and in the air to try and locate Mr. Keller but as of this writing he has not been located. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office does not have any reason to believe this is anything more than a lost or missing hiker at this time.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating Mr. Keller. If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Gregory Keller they are asked to call the number listed on the attached missing person’s flyer.
