The public is invited to attend a visioning workshop for Kayak Point Regional Park on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
The workshop will allow park users to help plan possible improvements to the day use portion of the park, located at 15610 Marine Dr., Stanwood. Planning for improvements to the day use portion of Kayak Point Regional Park is being considered because of maintenance, ecological and user issues that have come up during the past several years.
Kayak Point Regional Park is easily one of Snohomish County’s most popular facilities, and demand during peak summer days regularly exceeds park capacity. The parks’ design has not been reviewed since its 1972 opening, and Snohomish County Parks is taking this occasion to seek improvement opportunities.
Workshop participants will have the opportunity to describe how they currently use the park and to talk with their neighbors about how the park could be used in the future. Following the workshop, park staff will design one or more draft redevelopment plans that the public will be able to comment on next spring.
The Nov. 18 workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at Lake Goodwin Community Club, 17323 42nd Ave. NW, Stanwood.
For individuals unable to attend the workshop, or for more information, go to www.snocoparks.org or call 425-388-6616.
