(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) will give a speech on the senate floor today focusing on the needs of our veterans on the eve Veterans Day. Senator Murray’s speech will include her reflections on Veterans Day as a day of remembrance for those who have sacrificed. Murray’s speech will also touch on the tragedy at Fort Hood and on a ceremony being held today at Ft. Lewis in memory of soldiers who recently died in Afghanistan. Senator Murray will also discuss the Caregiver and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act, a bill that includes Senator Murray’s landmark women’s veterans legislation. That bill is currently being blocked on the Senate floor because of the objection of one Senator.
