Marysville Police Arrest Suspect in Murder of Infant

This afternoon Marysville Police Detectives arrested a Snohomish County man for the death of a 14 month infant which occurred in May of this year.
20 year old James Fryberg, surrendered to detectives this afternoon after communication took place between police and Fryberg’s attorney.
On May 14, 2009 Marysville Police Detectives responded to an apartment where the infant was found to be deceased. Fryberg reported that the infant had taken a fall down the stairs in the apartment the previous evening while in the care of Fryberg, who was babysitting.
On-scene detectives were initially suspicious as the injuries to the child were not consistent with having fallen down carpeted stairs. The responding Snohomish County Medical Examiner investigator shared the same concerns.
An autopsy was conducted on the infant. The results of the autopsy indicated the manner of death as homicide.
Fryberg has been booked at the Snohomish County Jail.
