Greetings:

I’d like to take a moment of your time and introduce myself to you. My name is Leland Dart and I am the Local Census Office Manager for Everett. Our office is responsible for conducting the Decennial Census operations for Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan Counties. We’re just getting underway and will continue into the fall of 2010. In the course of our mission we will employ more than 1500 people across the five counties we serve. They’ll be working as clerks, enumerators, supervisors, quality control, recruiters, partnership specialists, crew leaders, assistants and managers. We’ll be hiring workers in the communities where they live. It truly is neighbors counting neighbors.

I’m a life-long resident of north Puget Sound, born and raised in Everett and excited to take on this fantastic project. If, in the course of our efforts you have questions or comments about what we’re doing or how we are doing it, I would like to encourage you to contact me here at our office.

My phone number is (425) 609-7302. My email is: lcom.lco.2737@census2010.gov.
The Census not only provides the population counts needed to apportion the seats in the U.S. House of Representatives but also collects the data that are the basis for the allocation of billions of dollars of Federal, state and local funds, as well as the foundation of economic and social planning at every level. Our ten year snapshot is about to be taken, you are an important part of that picture. I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Leland R. Dart
