A 13-year-old Everett girl says she was abducted last week by a stranger and molested before breaking away and going home. Sheriff’s detectives learned of the incident yesterday (Monday, April 5) and are investigating.
The girl said she first saw the man on Sunday, March 28 as she was walking toward her home near 4th Ave. West and 105th St. S.E. in south Everett. She said an unknown car pulled up to her and the man inside asked her if she wanted to have sex. She ran home and told her mother. Nobody called 911.
The girl said the abduction happened in the early morning hours of April 1 as she was taking out the trash. She said the same man she saw on March 28 drove up to her house, got out of his car, grabbed her and pulled her into his car. She said he drove to an unfamiliar location a short distance away, where he parked the car and molested her. The girl said she was able to get away and go back home while the suspect drove off in the opposite direction. She did not tell her mother about the incident, but she did tell a friend. That friend’s mother told school officials who then contacted authorities.
The suspect is described as a black male, tall and with a slender build. He was reportedly wearing a red T-shirt and jeans. Detectives do not have a good description of the suspect vehicle except that it is reportedly a four-door sedan with a loud muffler and a strong odor of exhaust.
We have not had any other reports of lurings or abductions matching this description. Stranger abductions are rare. Detectives continue to investigate. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Sheriff’s tip line at 425-388-3845.
