Snohomish County transfer stations and drop-box locations will remain open despite a strike called Wednesday by union workers for Waste Management.
The county’s Solid Waste staff are not members of the Teamsters Local Union 174 that represents employees at Waste Management, and county facilities will be open during regular business hours to accept garbage and recycling from residents and businesses.
However, the strike by Waste Management staff may impact local residential and business garbage pickup. For more information on how Waste Management is handling the strike, go to www.wm.com.
