May 22- 28 is National Safe Boating Week. Many people love the water for family fun, fitness and entertainment during the summer months.  Whether you are boating, fishing, swimming or walking along the shore the possibility of mishaps exist.

Unfortunately, some people who go into the water for a day of fun meet with danger instead.  Anyone being near, on, or in the water runs the risk of becoming a drowning victim.  The best way to prevent a drowning occurrence is to wear a life jacket.

The Snohomish County Marine Services Unit, Snohomish County Safe Kids and others involved in water safety want you, your family and friends to be safe while enjoying your water activities this year.  That is why we want everyone to wear a life jacket and don’t drink and boat.
