UPDATE AS OF SATURDAY, AUGUST 21. Murder suspect Eric Lee Lowe turned himself in to the Everett Police.

The Everett Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in the August 13, 2010 shooting death of Mr. Alonzo Lopez-Gonzales.  Probable cause now exists for the arrest of Eric Lee Lowe for Murder 1st Degree and Robbery 1st Degree.  Lowe is a 22 year old white male, 5’9” tall, 180 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.  Mr. Lowe’s is last known to live in the Marysville area.  Lowe also has an active DOC warrant for Escape from Community Custody.

Detectives are also looking for Jeffrey Scott Cleator Jr. as a person of interest in this case. He is a 25 year old white male, 5’10” tall, 140 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes.  Cleator is last known to live in the south Everett area.

Both men should be considered armed and dangerous. DO NOT attempt to apprehend. Please call 911 if you see either of these suspects or the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257 – 8450 if you have information on their whereabouts.

On that night at about 3:15 a.m. officers responded to the Bluff Apartments located at 2 W. Casino Road in Everett for the report of an in progress assault with one person shot.  Officer arrived to find the victim outside the apartment build severely beaten and barely breathing.  The victim was taken to an Everett hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives investigating this case believe that the victim and the suspects had been involved in a drug deal earlier in the night.  Witnesses have told investigators that they heard Lowe earlier that night bragging that he was going to rob the victim.  Lowe allegedly claimed that the victim had sold him some “bad dope.” At around 3:00 a.m. Lowe allegedly broke into the victim’s apartment and along with a second suspect began to severely beat the victim and saying “where’s the money.” The victim told them the money was in a truck outside.

They began to walk out to the truck dragging the victim along.  They then stopped and drug the victim back into the apartment and forced him to open the closet where the victim allegedly had a safe full of cash.

After he opened the closet the victim ran out onto the apartment’s 2nd story balcony. It appears this was an attempt to get away from the suspects.  It is unclear whether or not the suspect jumped from the balcony or was pushed off by the suspects, either way he ended up on the ground outside.  It is at that point that at least one shot was fired by one of the suspects striking the victim and killing him.

There is now a $2 million Murder 1 warrant issued on Lowe.

If anyone has information regarding the suspect or the person of interest they are encouraged to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE (425) 257 – 8450.
