M-DOG will have a booth at this years Jones & Co Pet’s Annual Anniversary Sale Saturday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 3rd. from 9 am – 9 pm.

There will be a membership drive going that includes a members only M-DOG T-shirt, membership card and doggy bags. We will also have Marysville Dog Owners group literature, maps, photos and brochures available.

M-DOG is a non-profit group created to get an off leash dog park in Marysville.

We started Poochapalooza outdoor dog event to create awareness of a need for one. Since Strawberry Fields for Rover opened at the Strawberry Athletic Field at 6100 152nd Street NE, Marysville in 2008 M-DOG has a stewardship with the City of Marysville Parks Department to maintain the off leash park and the financial responsibility as well.

Many people don’t know that we are the ones responsible for the dog park they think since it’s now open and it’s on city property that the city maintains it but M-DOG does.

M-DOG is having a difficult time keep its volunteer numbers up and financially. Since the park is open people have backed off from volunteering because they feel the challenge has been met. But we have to purchase doggy bags, monthly work parties; people want a small dog area, shade trees for the dogs and all of this cost money.

You can donate through paypal at our website: www.M-DOG.org

This year we have many venues we plan to be involved in to gain exposure and hopefully donations; Electric Light Parade and booth in Comeford Park, Old Dog Havens Annual Auction. We helped with Scrub-a-Mutt this year and included our Poochapalooza “Best in Show” contests and prizes. If you are interested in helping please contact: Leslie Buell (360) 651-0633 or check out our website or facebook. We need more volunteers to keep the park going.

We have a work party at the off leash park scheduled for October 16th at noon show up and help clean up the park.

Our next M-DOG meeting is Oct. 20th Wednesday at 6:30 pm Haggens Market Deli, 88th Street, Marysville.
