OLYMPIA–The State Transportation Commission recently released its proposal to establish photo tolling on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and is holding public meetings to gather input on the proposal. The commission is proposing a $5.50 toll for those who do not have a Good to Go! transponder or who do not stop at the toll booth and pay cash. The proposal does not make any changes to the current $2.75 rate for Good To Go! drivers or the $4.00 rate for cash payers stopping at the toll booths.

The commission has scheduled two public meetings for people to learn more about the toll rate proposal and provide comments:

·         Public Input Meeting: Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 6:30 p.m., at Gig Harbor City Hall, 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor.  This meeting will be to take public input only.
·         Public Hearing: Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Gig Harbor City Hall at 6:30 p.m., at Gig Harbor City Hall, 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor. This will be the commission’s final hearing and a final decision to take action is expected at this meeting.
An open house will be held before the start of both meetings at 5:30 p.m. to provide an opportunity for the public to learn more about photo tolling. Representatives from the Washington State Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions.
