SEATTLE – Nighttime drivers planning to use eastbound State Route 520 should plan to take alternate routes across and around Lake Washington next week as crews working for WSDOT continue to install tolling equipment on the SR 520 bridge.
Crews plan to close all eastbound lanes from Montlake Boulevard in Seattle to 92nd Avenue NE in Medina four nights next week, Jan. 17-20. The bridge closes at 11:59 p.m. each night and reopens by 4:30 a.m. the following morning.
Crews will also perform this closure on Friday and Saturday nights, Jan. 21-22 beginning at 11:59 p.m. both nights. The roadway will reopen by 7 a.m. on Saturday morning and 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
In addition to these closures, the on-ramps from both directions of I-5 to eastbound SR 520 will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly.
During these closures, crews will be hanging roadway signs and equipment for the upcoming tolling of the SR 520 bridge. Drivers can expect one direction of the bridge to be closed Monday through Saturday nights until early February.
