OLYMPIA– Next week in Olympia, the Washington State Transportation Commission will receive the final report from the 2010 Ferry Rider Opinion Survey. The commission also will hold a tolling work session and receive updates on the SR 99 and Columbia River Crossing projects.
The commission is meeting Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 15 and 16, at the Transportation Building on the Capital Campus, 310 Maple Park Ave. SE in Olympia at 9 a.m. each day.
Beginning at 9 a.m., Tuesday, the commission will finalize its work on the 2010 Ferry Rider Opinion Survey. More than 8,000 ferry riders from all 12 Washington State Ferry routes participated in the latest survey round to help the state better identify needs and priorities of ferry riders. The survey will be presented to the Legislature next week after final commission action.
On Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until noon, the commission will review the status of tolling proposals and projects. Wednesday afternoon the commission will receive updates on the SR 99 tunnel project and Columbia River Crossing project, and hear an alternative proposal for tolling on I-405.
Other items on the commission agenda include the WSDOT 2010 Congestion Report and the role of iron workers in building and maintaining bridges across the state.
