EVERETT – Drivers should plan ahead for full closures of the westbound US 2 trestle on Tuesday, June 14 and Thursday, June 16.

Crews will close westbound US 2 between State Route 9 and Interstate 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday while they repair girders supporting the trestle. The roadway will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning. The ramps from SR 204, 20th St. and Bickford Ave. to westbound US 2 will close starting at 7 p.m. each night and will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning.

Drivers will follow a signed detour using SR 9 and SR 528 to the north and SR 9 and SR 96 to the south. Drivers should allow 15 to 35 minutes for their trips depending on their destination and current traffic conditions.

This work is part of the $8 million US 2 trestle rehab project. Crews will close the westbound US 2 up to 65 nights this summer while they repair 844 girders supporting the trestle. For project details and a detour map, visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/US2/TrestleRehabStage2.
