Richard Macinnis, a Boeing engineer, was one of 20 Boeing employee volunteers who helped unload a truck full of donated school supplies and backpacks on August 11 in Everett as part of Everett Public Schools’ Stuff the Bus event. In the QFC grocery store parking lot on Evergreen Way, the employees formed a receiving line to unload the supplies which were donated by Boeing employees as part of the company’s Books & Backpacks drive.

Boeing’s participation in Stuff the Bus was organized through its Global Corporate Citizenship (GCC) organization. GCC refers to the work that Boeing does in its diverse communities, both as a company and individual employees. Last year, Boeing contributed more than $20 million to organizations in Northwest communities where employees work and live.

Stuff the Bus ran for four days with the goal of collecting 1,400 backpacks for disadvantaged children in Snohomish County.

Boeing’s Books & Backpacks drive is an annual event aimed at helping disadvantaged children throughout Puget Sound prepare for school.
