In its efforts to increase transitional housing for veterans, Snohomish County is seeking proposals for development of a local housing project at Filbert Road.
Through the county’s Request for Proposals (RFP) process, the county hopes to find a developer to construct affordable, supportive and transitional housing for veterans. Snohomish County is home to about 60,000 veterans, and more than 3,000 of those are living in poverty.
“Our U.S. service women and men contribute so much to our community and quality of life that we must demonstrate our commitment to them, especially those who may have special needs,” said Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon. “This proposed housing project is one way to support veterans in need.”
National and local data indicates that the three highest needs for veterans are jobs, treatment services and housing assistance. This project will include both housing and supportive services.
The RFP is available on the Snohomish County Human Services Department website at www.snoco.org/Departments/Human_Services/PublicNotices.htm.
There will be a Mandatory Proposer’s Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 3:30-5 p.m. in Conference Room 6A02, 6th Floor of the Snohomish County Robert J. Drewel Building in Everett.
