CLEARVIEW - Crews widening State Route 9 near Snohomish will close the
east leg of the SR 9/188th Street SE intersection around the clock for
four days starting Monday morning, Nov. 5.
Both directions of 188th Street SE between SR 9 and 76th St SE will
close from 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, through 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9. During
the closure, crews will lower the grade of 188th Street SE about four
feet to match the newly widened highway. Drivers should allow extra time
for a short detour using 83rd Ave SE and 180th Street SE.
Crews are widening more than two miles of SR 9 near Clearview. When work
is complete in fall 2013, drivers will have two lanes in each direction
of SR 9, new turn lanes at key intersections, and a raised median to
separate oncoming traffic and reduce the risk of serious collisions.
