Volunteers with extensive business expertise wanted to help select Village Community Services’ next social enterprise. VCS’ goal is to develop a profitable business that provides both job training and employment opportunities for people who have disabilities and an additional revenue stream toward the support of VCS’ programs.
Wisdom Council Tasks (estimated one-time 3 hour time commitment):
• Review market and social mission research provided by VCS on 3 potential social enterprises
• Complete a short survey to rate the potential social enterprises based on set criteria
• Give feedback and share your ideas
Informational meeting on January 30, 2013: Noon to 1:00 pm, 3210 Smokey Point Drive, Suite 200, Arlington, WA: Review project goals and the market and social mission research data compiled by Dr. Jean Ann French and VCS. Lunch provided.

VCS’ board of directors has identified 3 social enterprises to consider: 1) deconstruction/recycle and resale 2) “waterless” carwash and car detail 3) a family recreation center Village Community Services is a nonprofit provider of vocational and residential services to adults with disabilities who live and/or work in Snohomish and Skagit Counties. VCS’ mission is to support adults having disabilities and other life challenges in achieving their personal potential at home, work, and in community life.
