Summer is the season for fairs and festivals, large family get-togethers, and road trips. It is also the best and sometimes only time to repair roads and bridges, replace culverts, install sewer and water lines, and build housing developments.
It may be impossible to avoid construction this summer, but there are a few things you can do to make your encounter less stressful. Check online for road construction information – more about that later. Give yourself some extra time to reach your destination. Keep a container of cool drinking water by your side, and tune to your favorite radio station for the drive.
For information about work on State highways and ramps, visit the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Web site, www.wsdot.gov, and type Hot Spots in the search box.
For information about the most current work on Snohomish County’s roads visit the county’s Web page: www.snoco.org and type Roads Update in the search box. This will take you to a link for the county’s Weekly Road Construction Update which includes information about road closures and single lane closures.
You can e-subscribe to the Update and receive an e-mail when new projects are posted, or dates change. If you have questions about any roadway project, contact 425-388-3789, or send an e-mail to email@example.com.
