National debt will effect state debt
Dear Editor,

Our nation’s debt limit is $14.3 trillion and currently our national debt is a little under $14 trillion, now the political arguing starts on whether to raise or not to raise.
Of course we have raised the debt limit 10 times since 2001and one interesting point is that Senator Obama voted “No” when he was in the U.S. Senate to raise the debt limit to it’s current level.
It is obvious that we will raise the debt limit when the time comes but it has to be a wake—up call that this must be the last time and the need to balance the federal budget is a necessity.
Downsizing the federal government and a change in entitlements is a must to keep our nation from financial doom.
Our state legislature needs to realize that when the federal budget gets reduced that so will the money to the states and they must count less on government help from Washington D.C.

How do we produce evidence that something didn’t happen

Dear Editor,
I really enjoy your weekly newspaper, as I devour it from stem to stern.  I also want to congratulate you as our new Chamber of Commerce President.  You are a great choice.
A phrase in your editorial two weeks ago has me puzzled.  “There is no evidence that President Obama was not born in Hawaii”.
How do you produce evidence that a specific event didn’t happen?  It’s obvious that our President was born, but where?
If you know of evidence as to where he was born, I’d be delighted to receive it.
