A better late than never thank you

Dear Editor,

We want to thank all the Lake Stevens merchants who contributed to the Rockin’ Roll Spring Fashion Show 2011.
We also wish to thank Wet Seal and Hot Topic at the Alderwood Mall for furnishing the clothes.  Also, Walgreen’s and Postnet for their contributions.  We especially want to thank Kohl’s, Ixtapa, Bourne Orthodontics, and Steve Robinson: Private Investigator, for their donations.

Frontier Village might become a bigger mess

Dear Editor,

I would like to thank the city council for giving me the opportunity to express my displeasure with WSDOT’s Highway 9 / 204 presentation and plan for our community at the city council meeting, on April 23.
After watching and hearing their (WSDOT’s) presentation and plan for our community at the April 9 city council meeting, I was very disappointed.
I understand I am not a traffic engineer, but their (WSDOT) plan of an elevated Highway 9 at Frontier Village with a roundabout below it (designated “plan 2b”), is a terrible idea to fix the already terrible mess at that intersection.
WSDOT made it clear their plan would probably eliminate the Frontage Road (in front of McDonald’s and Starbucks) and close at least one or two businesses at that intersection.   After voicing and emailing my concerns to the council members most have responded back favorably.
If you do not want WSDOT’s roundabout in front of Frontier Village I would encourage you to e-mail each council member and let them know we need a better plan for OUR community.
