The police department responded to 717 incidents in the week of January 2, 2011 through January 8, 2011. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable contacts:

 

Vehicle Theft, 01/04/2011, 2400 block 4th Street NE

A 23-year-old female and two 14-year-old male juveniles were arrested for vehicle theft.  The victim’s neighbor observed the three suspects enter the victim’s car and drive away.  Officers contacted the victim who stated that she was unaware her car was gone.  The victim was able to provide officers possible suspect information.  A short time later Marysville Police located and stopped the vehicle.  Lake Stevens Officers arrived and took custody of the three suspects from Marysville Police.  All three suspects confessed to planning and stealing the car.  The vehicle was returned to the victim and the suspects were booked into jail without further incident. 


 

Theft 3, 01/05/2011, 300 block 91st Avenue NE

A 38-year-old male was booked into Marysville Jail for theft and making a false/misleading statement to an officer.  Officers were dispatched to a priority theft complaint when a store employee observed the suspect take a bottle of vodka and then flee the store on foot.  Officers located a male matching the description provided by the employee a short time later and placed him under arrest.  The store employee immediately identified the male as the one who concealed the item and then fled the store.  Video surveillance of the incident was obtained and booked as evidence.  The male was booked into jail without further incident. 


 

Eluding/Agency Assist, 01/06/11, 4400 block 83rd Avenue NE

A 36-year-old male was arrested for eluding police.  While on patrol, Marysville Police requested assistance from Lake Stevens Police on a traffic pursuit.  A moment later an officer advised the suspect vehicle nearly struck an officer’s patrol car and was headed toward 83rd Avenue.  A Lake Stevens officer parked his vehicle on 83rd Avenue as other Lake Stevens officers had joined the pursuit.  A short-time later the officer observed the suspect vehicle approaching his location.  As the suspect got closer the officer tossed a tire spike strip onto the roadway.  The suspect drove over the spike strip and the vehicle came to a stop.  The suspect fled the vehicle on foot and officers followed the suspect into a field of blackberry bushes.  The suspect surrendered and was placed into handcuffs.  Custody of the suspect was transferred to Marysville Police and Lake Stevens officers cleared the scene. 


 

Possession Marijuana/Drug Paraphernalia, 01/08/2011, 800 block Frontage Road

A 20-year-old male was booked into Marysville Jail for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  While on patrol, an officer observed the occupants of a vehicle acting suspiciously.  The officer approached the car and as he contacted the occupants, he observed the suspect pull a bag of marijuana from the center console of the car attempting to conceal it.  The male was placed under arrest and during the search of the vehicle officers found numerous items of drug paraphernalia in the car.    The male was transported to jail without further incident.
