Everett, WA-- Village Theatre Pied Piper presents the Stellaluna, produced by King Cole Theatricals from Toronto, on Saturday, February 6 at 2:00 PM.

Baby bat Stellaluna's life is flitting along right on schedule — until an owl attacks her mother one night, knocking the bewildered batlet out of her mother's loving grasp. Luckily, the tiny bat lands in a nest of baby birds! When Stellaluna's adoptive bird mom tells her she must act like a bird, not a bat, she quickly learns the importance of being herself.

Stellaluna teaches tolerance and acceptance of the natural differences between us, and in doing so it follows closely to the favorite childhood story many kids will remember. “This production preserves the original story [and] even, if one dares say it, improves on the book, adding wit, humor, and hummable tunes to this fable about being different yet fitting it,” Janet I-Chin Tu of The Seattle Times comments.

Stellaluna plays at the Everett Civic Auditorium on Saturday, February 6, 2010. In addition to the public performances, school matinee performances of Stellaluna will also take place at the Everett Civic Auditorium (February 5, 2010 – 10:00 AM and Noon) and at Theatre at Meydenbauer Center (February 8, 2010 – 10:00 AM and Noon).
