Journal’s Candidate Forum postponed

UW Campus Town meeting tonight BY PAM STEVENS | EDITOR The Lake Stevens Journal had planned to hold their Candidate Forum this evening at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center.

However, there has been a Town Meeting scheduled for tonight regarding the University of Washington’s new north campus planning project.

Governor Christine Gregoire has chosen the Lake Stevens/Snohomish area as one of the top four locations to build the new UW campus.

The Journal feels that both the opportunity to have a major university campus built in our area and the Candidate Forum are important events in our community. Therefore we have made it possible for our Mayor, city council members and the public to attend both events.

The Candidate Forum will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center.
This gives citizens of Lake Stevens more time to submit questions for the Forum. You can submit them to news@lakestevensjournal.com.

The Town Meeting is open to the public and is an important step in making the university campus a reality in our community bringing with it family wage jobs and opportunities for students to continue their education close to home.

The Town Meeting will be held at the Everett Events Center at 7 p.m. tonight.

Please plan on attending both events and support our beautiful and growing city.
