Downtown Lake Stevens hosts
a haunting Halloween

Kids are invited to join in the frightening fun BY PAM STEVENS | EDITOR Today is the day when all of Lake Stevens turns into a maze of young people moving door-to-door treating homeowners to clever costumes while hoping for a tasty and delicious treat.

The Lake Stevens Family Center, Downtown Merchants Association along with many LS service clubs are hosting their annual Family Safe Downtown Halloween in downtown Lake Stevens.

“Families have come to depend on this event for one-stop Halloween fun. It’s safe, it’s free and it’s a way for the community to welcome and celebrate children on one of their favorite nights of the year,” Linda Rudat of the Family Center said.

Families are invited to start out the evening at the Boys & Girls Club with a Costume Parade starting at 5:00 p.m. Staging begins promptly at 4:45 p.m.

Following which a visit to the Senior Center is in order for a Halloween Carnival where there will be several booths set-up with crafts and activities for the kids.

Next is a trip over to the Main Street Center where local merchants will have trick-or-treats.

“This is my favorite part of Halloween,” Jenny Fenrich, owner of Main Street Coffee said. “ It is small-town America at its best with the community coming together and having a great time.”

Lake Stevens Fire will have a “not-so-haunted” Haunted House for anyone wanting to put a little spook in their spooktacular evening.

Frightening food and delicious and daring drinks will be had by all who dare.

This annual event always packs a crowd and those in attendance never walk away scared or hungry.

Join in the fun and haunting at the Family Safe Downtown Halloween event from 5:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m. tonight.
