Local artist wins two
awards for plane art
Lake Stevens’ own Jack Fellows’ award winning artwork will be displayed at the Museum of Flight. The American Society of Aviation Artists, is an organization dedicated to the Pursuit of Excellence and Public Appreciation of Aerospace Art. Jack Fellows, a resident of Lake Stevens, won two first place awards for his oil painting “Corsair.”

The ASAA Award of Distinction and the Aviation Week Space Technology Magazine Award 1st place Military Aviation. He received his awards at the Museum of Flight on June 21, 2008.
The painting “Corsair” will be published in Aviation Week’s Photo & Art issue dated Dec. 22/29, 2008.
Fellows’ work as a fine art painter, for over 39 years, is not only military history illustrations, but also figurative, landscape and maritime subjects. His work is in museum and private collections in the United States and abroad.
He has done over 100 postage stamp designs; a book, “War in Pacific Skies”, featuring 103 of Fellows’ illustrations; and limited edition prints. Much of his work is available published in a variety of formats.
Fellows has won numerous awards and is a life member of the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters, a member of USAF Art Program, and the American Society of Aviation Artists.
