and Sirens The police department responded to 480 incidents in the week of October 26, 2008 to November 1, 2008. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable events:

(Domestic Violence) Assault 4/Obstructing, 10/26/08, 9200 blk Market Place
A 30-year-old male was booked into jail for assault and obstructing charges. Officers went to investigate an allegation of assault that was disclosed to them while investigating a separate incident. Upon arrival at the residence, officers could hear a male and female arguing. During the argument, officers overheard the female tell the male that he shouldn’t have assaulted her. The male was uncooperative and refused to comply with the officer’s commands. The male was eventually taken into custody and booked into jail.

Burglary, 10/26/08, 512 blk of 91 Ave NE
Officers were dispatched to a silent alarm call. The alarm company reported that they could hear noise inside the building, but upon entry no one was located. Officers requested K-9 assistance from another agency and a full building search was performed. The search was on the building, as well as, the neighboring building, but no suspects were found. The case was forwarded to the detectives unit for further investigation.

Fraud/Possession Stolen Property, 10/27/08, 700 blk Sr 9
A possession of stolen property/fraud case was sent to the felony prosecutor for criminal charges. Officers were dispatched to a fraud complaint in which a 25-year-old female suspect attempted to cash a stolen check. Upon arrival, officers contacted the store employee who stated that when they informed the female they would need to verify the check with the check holder, the female left the store leaving the check behind. The store employee provided the officer with suspect information. Officers were unable to locate the suspect and the case was forwarded to the court for charging.

Possession of Methamphetamine/Warrant, 10/28/2008, 8600 blk of 1st SE
A 23-year-old female was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Officers observed a female walking down the street early in the morning. Officers made contact with the female and attempted to identify her. She gave a false name and when asked why she stated that she has a warrant which was confirmed by the police dispatcher. The female was placed under arrest and her person was searched and officers found the female to be in possession of methamphetamines. The female was booked into county jail.
