Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County names Youth of the YearSara Higbee, a student at Meadowdale High School, has been selected as the 2008 Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County.
Twelve other exceptional club nominees that participated in the Snohomish County competition were honored at the Youth of the Year dinner hosted by Anthony’s Restaurant in Edmonds. Eric Melander of Lake Stevens was one of the honorees.
The Snohomish County Youth of the Year is selected by a panel of community leaders and will go on to compete for the Washington State Youth of the Year title on April 9. Since 1983, Snohomish County has had two youths selected as National Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County serve 17,872 kids at our 13 clubs and 18 extension sites. Their mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those that need us the most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
