Spring for Education Breakfast earns thousands for local kids

On Thursday, March 5, the Lake Stevens Education Foundation (LSEF) hosted their first ever “Spring for Breakfast” fundraiser where they were able to raise more than $10,000 for students in the Lake Stevens School District.
The event was held at Cavelero Mid-High School and was chaired by Carrie Blair and Leslie Elsemore.

“We were very pleased with the turn-out, everyone seemed to enjoy the breakfast and the program, we so appreciate their generosity to help us continue the Foundation’s work.  Especially in these tough economic times, with budgets being cut, the Foundation’s contributions to programs for students in the school district will be especially critical,” Elsemore said.

Terri Spencer, LSEF President and the morning’s emcee welcomed over 140 guests and the Cavelero Mid-High Jazz Band, under the direction of Brian Koreski, played for the crowd.

Dr. David Burgess, Superintendent of Lake Stevens School District, spoke about the students and exciting programs in the district and the work of the Education Foundation.
