It was all hands on deck for Earth Day with the Lake Stevens Lions Club and Kiwanis, park board members, citizens and city staff all working in Lundeen Park and Eagle Ridge Park on Sunday.

There were 70 trees planted at Eagle Ridge Park and Lundeen Park had their picnic tables spruced up with new stain, new sand spread out on the beach, fences were repaired, trees trimmed and a lot of weed pulling.

The Grand Opening of the Lake Stevens Senior Center, located within Eagle Ridge Park, will be held this Saturday, May 2 beginning at 7 a.m. with a Pancake Breakfast and the ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m.

Senator Hobbs and Lake Stevens Mayor Vern Little will be speaking briefly. The Lions Club will have the hot dog wagon there and the Senior Board will be hosting an ice cream social.

Donations for this event were made by Jays Market, Safeway, Albertsons, Haggen’s and Costco. Rick and Cindy Bond donated plants, trees and landscaping skills and have created a beautiful landscaping for the seniors and park goers to enjoy.
