The crowning of Mr. LSHS 2009
Contestants Ryan Legg, Drew Larson, Joe Neverkewitz, Josh Mundell, Brandon Chandler, Joachim Nordensson, Daniel Vegamora, Nick Johnson, Scott Larson, Jake Metzler, Brian Toews and Mr. LSHS Winner Brandon Gustafson is front and center. JOURNAL STAFF The Lake Stevens High School Leadership Class held its annual Mr. LSHS pageant on Wednesday, May 6 at the Performing Arts Center. The event was sold out with 450 students watching eleven seniors compete to see who is “Mr. Lake Stevens High School.”
The event was emceed by seniors KJ Fenrich and Jordan Rumsey. The pageant started with a choreographed dance, followed by a talent portion, which was filled with musical performances, comedy routines, and other special talents.
After the guys performed their talents, they performed a catwalk with swim and formal wear, followed by memorable karaoke performances.
After the boys were asked a set of interview questions by the judges, the final three contestants left competing were Ryan Legg, Joachim Nordessan and Brandon Gustafson.
The audience cheered for the contestant they felt deserved to win Mr. LSHS and Ryan Legg and Brandon Gustafson were the final two remaining. Finally, Brandon Gustafson defeated Ryan Legg in a “dance off” to capture the coveted title of Mr. LSHS.
A special thanks goes to Mr. LSHS Leadership Class Committee members Brain Buzzo, Miranda Shultz, Jordan Wyrick, Jordan Rumsey and KJ Fenrich for coordinating the event, along with Sue Ward, Parker Mechamx, and Richie Williams for music and lights.
Overall, the event was an extreme success raising over $400 for the Lake Stevens Food Bank.
