Missing hiker found on Mt. Pilchuck

Search and rescue teams were able to locate a man who became separated from his hiking party on Mt. Pilchuck on Saturday.

The 30-year-old man was with a party of four hikers who went for a day hike on Mt. Pilchuck on Saturday. After reaching the summit at around 2 p.m. they lost track of the man. The hikers believed he may have tried to climb down the backside of the mountain.

Search and rescue teams located the man Sunday morning around 11 a.m. and broughty him to safety.
“Aside from scratches from brush he is in good condition and will be checked by medics once he reaches the trail head,” Lt. Rodney Rochon of the Snohomish Coutny Sheriff’s office said.

Search teams were from Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit, Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue, Darrington FD off road vehicle search team, Skagit County Explorer SAR and King County Explorer SAR.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
