Senior Services of Snohomish County, a nonprofit organization that provides housing, nutrition, transportation and social services throughout Snohomish County, will celebrate the opening of its newest affordable senior housing community with an open house on Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hawkins House Senior Apartments is
located at 9433 N. Davies Road in Lake Stevens.
Program and dedication will begin at 3 p.m.
Aaron Reardon, Snohomish County Executive, Hans Dunshee, State Representative 44th District, Phil Sullivan, Senior Services’ CEO and Renee Greenman, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will all be in attendance.
Hawkins House offers 39 one-bedroom
apartments for people age 62 and older. The beautiful new apartments are
designed to enhance independent living for active seniors as well as those who
need support services. Eligible residents pay 30 percent of their income for
rent. Shopping and services are within walking distance across the street at
Frontier Village. And, small pets are welcome.
Financing for this $6.5 million dollar
building was provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD Section 202 program), Snohomish County, Washington State Department of
Commerce, and Impact Capital.
