Police continue to investigate the events leading to a fatality vehicle collision that occurred in the 8200 block of SR528, in Marysville.

Just before 7:30 a.m. police were called to the collision.  The vehicle was driving westbound on SR528 at the time of the collision.  The vehicle crossed the eastbound lanes of traffic and struck a utility pole.  Marysville Police Collision Investigation Unit (CIT) members are trying to determine what caused the driver of the vehicle to cross the road and strike the pole.

The driver, a 46 year-old Lake Stevens man, was pronounced dead at the scene by Marysville Fire District medical personnel.

“At this time we really don’t have a sense of whether this was a driver that lost control of a vehicle, a medical condition, or some other reason for the collision,” Commander Robb Lamoureox of the Marysville Police Dept. said. “We may not know for certain until the results of an autopsy become available.”
