Lakesider’s serve dinner at the Tailgate ministry program with Salvation Army every first Monday of every month for the homeless in Everett and would like to be able to supply a backpack with some essentials to those they serve.
“The first Monday of April we serve, clean up, put on a full service, sing, read scripture and pray. We’d like to give away backpacks with supplies in April,” the team said.
You can help with this by either providing a backpack already assembled, or by donating the following: backpack, men’s socks, men’s underwear, flashlight (with batteries), water bottle, small first aid kit, small light blanket.
Please bring to church by Easter Sunday. Duplicates gladly accepted—there are plenty of folks in need. Questions? Call or email Jeanette 206-819-7519; kronxplace@comcast.net.
There is also a great need for good men’s clothing for the homeless in Marysville. Spring cleaning your closets will help homeless men in Marysville by dropping off clothing at Lakeside Fellowship. Look for the Saint Joseph’s sign.
Also, on Thursday, April 8,the public is invited to go without shoes or walk without shoes with the congregation on the Centennial Trail to help raise awareness regarding children who live life without shoes. Everyone is welcome to join.
They will be walking barefoot on the Centennial Trail from the 20th St. NE near Mt. Pilchuck Elementary Trail parking lot to the Machias Centennial Trail Parking lot. This event will take place at 3:30 p.m.
