The Penta Web has landed! Multiple years of fundraising has paid off for the students at Glenwood Elementary.
A spider web of fun was installed on the playground at Glenwood over the summer.
When the clock strikes recess, students flock to the Penta Web. The equipment thrives with students clamoring to be the next one to summit the peak. Students anxiously wait their turn to scale this webbed wonder.
The playground committee, led by Robin Giuliacci and Shelley Khorrami along with other fabulous volunteers, worked with the Glenwood Student Council to determine which piece of equipment the students would enjoy the most.
As families supported these fundraising efforts, the students became excited for the new equipment to come.
Along with the support of the Glenwood families, Tom and Chris, owners of Sahara Pizza in Lake Stevens, were actively involved in raising money for the Glenwood Playground Committee.
Once a month, Sahara Pizza sponsors a pizza night for participating Lake Steven’s schools. This fundraiser is quite popular with our Glenwood families. They enjoy a delicious pizza while raising funds for the school.
It took several years of pizza eating and other fundraising projects to achieve this goal. A huge thank you goes out to all Glenwood families for their efforts on this fundraising project.
The students at Glenwood Elementary are very excited about this Penta Web and now have bragging rights over a very cool piece of playground equipment.
Principal Laura Clift officially opened the new Penta Web with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, September 10.
