It’s that time of year again. The Lake Stevens/Granite Falls Rotary Club is kicking off its ninth Annual Bikes for Tykes campaign.
Last year, the club distributed bikes and trikes to175 worthy families. The Lake Stevens Rotary Club members will be collecting like new bikes on Saturday, Nov. 27.
If you have a bicycle or tricycle that you would like to donate to the Lake Stevens/Granite Falls Rotary Club, bring them to Haggen’s in Lake Stevens.
Anyone wishing to donate cash to the Rotary Club for the Bikes for Tykes can send the money to the Club at P.O. Box 908, Lake Stevens, Washington 98258.
For pick up, call 206-226-6625..
The Lake Stevens Food Bank and the Family Center identify children in the community whose families cannot afford a new or slightly used bicycle.
Funds for this program are raised through the Rotary Club budget, local individual donations and donations from Rotary Club members. In the past, individuals have donated their like new bikes to the club for distribution to these families as well.
The bikes will be distributed on Saturday, December 18 at the old Senior Center in downtown Lake Stevens.
Club members agree and have stated, “shouldn’t every young child get a Bike for Christmas?”
