On Wednesday, Dec. 29 at approximately 8:48 p.m. Lake Stevens Police Officers responded to an assault with a weapon at the intersection of North Davies Rd. and 96th Ave. NE in Lake Stevens.
Bystanders called 911 after witnessing a 25-year-old male exit a Toyota truck and assault the driver of a Subaru with a flashlight.
The 25-year-old male driver of the Subaru then grabbed a firearm and shot his attacker in the chest.
The subject with a gunshot wound was taken to Colby Campus and later transported to Harborview Medical Center.
The second male was taken to Providence Hospital in Everett to be treated for head injuries.
Lake Stevens Detectives believe the assault was a result of a road rage incident that occurred between the two vehicles in the Frontier Village area.
