The City of Lake Stevens is interested in considering applicants for a vacant position on the Arts Commission.
The Arts Commission’s focus is to advise the Mayor and Council regarding the acquisition and display of art in public places.
Interested applicants must complete and submit a questionnaire to be considered for an interview by the Mayor.
The questionnaire can be picked up at the City of Lake Stevens offices or online at
http://www.ci.lake-stevens.wa.us/.
The City of Lake Stevens is a non-charter code city operating under the mayor-council plan of government in accordance with the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 35A.12.
The City has an elected mayor and seven council members. The seven Art Commission members are appointed by the Mayor with approval of the Council for four-year terms.
Eligibility to hold an Arts Commission position is set forth in Lake Stevens Municipal Code Section 2.29.020 as follows:
“....The Mayor and Council may appoint a member who resides or owns property within the City or the City’s Urban Growth Area…”
Meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center, 1808 Main Street.
