State Representative Mike Hope (R-Lake Stevens) has received the endorsement of the Washington Council of Police & Sheriffs (WACOPS) in his race for the office of Snohomish County Executive. WACOPS is a professional organization that helps represent over 4,500 members across Washington State.

“As both a police officer and a life-long supporter of our law enforcement communities, it’s an honor to receive the endorsement of WACOPS,” said Rep. Hope.

Rep. Hope has a track record of working alongside the law enforcement community on key pieces of legislation. In 2010, he worked to pass the Lakewood Memorial Act which expanded the authority of judges to deny bail to defendants awaiting trial for serious crimes for which the maximum sentence is the possibility of life in prison.

This endorsement follows a “Legislator of the Year Award” that Rep. Hope received last year from WACOPS. Jaime Daniels, Executive Director of the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs, had this to say, “We appreciate Rep. Hope’s support of public safety issues and law enforcement officers and wish him the best in his campaign.”

Rep. Mike Hope’s campaign continues to pick up momentum across Snohomish County, raising money, knocking on doors and talking to voters.
