On Tuesday, August 2, the family center will host the annual National Night Out Against Crime event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Main Street and North Cove Park.
Participants will enjoy a free dinner and snacks, a wider offering of children’s activities, the famous DJ Bob with performances, the third Annual “Guns and Hoses” showdown between the Police and Fire departments, and a host of community resource booths to visit and experience.
There will also be emergency vehicles, racecars, Harleys, and military vehicles to tour. The entire event is free.
National Night Out Against Crime is an event held in 11,000 communities in all 50 states and abroad. Its purpose is to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships, and send a clear message that our community is organized to resist negative influences and criminal activity.
This year we are calling out to our community for your talent.
