Colt White
Granite Falls resident Colt White, 23, was reportedly the last person to see missing Granite Falls woman Angela Gilbert, 41, before she disappeared in June and now White’s body was recovered from the Stillaguamish River on Sunday, July 24.
While it is unknown how long the body was in the river, decomposition suggests it was weeks, as opposed to days, Rebecca Hover of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on White.
“The medical examiner has not yet confirmed cause and manner of death,” Hover said.
A third party reported that Colt White and Angela Gilbert went for a walk on some private timberland near Granite Falls on June 2 and that White returned alone, saying that Gilbert had decided to continue walking by herself. Gilbert has not been seen or heard from since.
“We were not able to find Colt White to speak to him about Angela Gilbert,” Hover said.
A family member reported White missing just a few days later. However, reports were also made that he had been seen in the community after that report was made.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s office continues to look for Gilbert who had warrants against her at the time of her disappearance. On Tuesday, July 19, Prosecutors charged Gilbert with second-degree escape which is a felony.
White had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear at Cascade District Court on June 16 where he was charged with reckless burning and also had a fourth-degree assault charge pending.
