Puget Sound H.O.G. to host 9/11 Memorial Ride

On Sunday, Sept. 11 more than 70 motorcyclists will take part in a 58-mile memorial ride to observe the tenth anniversary of 9/11. The memorial ride, sponsored by Sound Harley-Davidson of Marysville, was organized by the Puget Sound H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) as a way to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
“This anniversary is very special to our group as several of our members are first responders,” explained Evan Adolf, Puget Sound H.O.G. member and Training Captain with Snohomish County Fire District 7. “We have and will continue to honor those that lost their lives as a result of 9/11. We also want to recognize all of our fallen military personnel and recognize our current and retired military, law enforcement officers and firefighters.”
The ride will start at 10 a.m. at Sound Harley (16212 Smokey Point Blvd., Marysville). Riders will travel to Snohomish County Fire District 7 Headquarters (8010 180th St. SE, Snohomish) to observe a flag lowering performed by the firefighter/EMTs on-duty that day.
The group expects to arrive at Fire District 7 Headquarters at approximately 11:30 a.m. They will then make their way to Everett to drive by the Navy base and then back to Sound Harley.
The public is encouraged to show their support along the route.

Bikers will leave Sound Harley-Davidson north on Smokey Point Blvd. east on SR 531, south on SR 9, east on SR 92, south on Grade Road, south on 124th Ave N.E. (Lk. Stevens), south on S. Lake Stevens Rd., east on Machias Cutoff Rd., south on S. Machias Rd., south on Maple Ave., west on 1st St. (Snohomish), south on Airport Rd., south on Springhetti Rd., south on Broadway Ave. (Sno. County), west on 180th St. S.E. to fire station.
Leave fire station west on 180th St. S.E., north on SR 9, west on E. Lowell Larimer Rd., east on Lowell Larimer Rd., north on 2nd Street (Everett), west on 41st Ave., north on Rucker, west on Pacific, north on W. Marine View Dr., north on SR 529, north on State Ave (Marysville), north on Smokey Point Blvd. to Sound Harley-Davidson.
