Middle school students are passionate, enthusiastic, and want to make their mark in this world.
Thanks to the approval of the LSSD School Board and the Support of the Kiwanis Club of Lake Stevens, North Lake Middle School students are now able to do just that, in the name of service.
Members of the newly formed Builders Club demonstrate the ability to do the right thing, even when it might be the unpopular choice. These students model inclusiveness and true caring as they listen, communicate, serve, and guide others.
This year they will engage in a variety of service projects. They have already worked with other members of the ASB to form three Relay for Life Teams. You can see their dedication first-hand by visiting the Oktoberfest Root Beer Garden on October 15 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Profits from this event will benefit a variety of youth organizations in our community.
Additionally, the students will be collecting jeans as part of the Teens for Jeans campaign. If you have gently used jeans to donate, you may bring them to Mrs. Sanchez in the NLMS office.
Also, this spring the students will organize a Housing Hope supply drive for homeless families. Additional project information and updates will be available on the North Lake website throughout the school year.
Through these projects, the amazing youth of Lake Stevens have an outlet for their drive to serve.
